The first day of the congress will focus on presentations and expert forums. Here, pressing issues concerned with the Energiewende – Germany’s energy transition – will be presented and discussed:

  • Communication, motivation and further training in the context of the energy transition at the local level
  • Energy concepts for new development areas and the refurbishment of existing building stock (district concepts)
  • Economically successful energy transition projects in municipalities
  • Implementation strategies for transforming heating at the local level
  • Experiences with sustainable mobility in communal environments

In addition to the GETEC, the second day will also offer excursions and workshops especially aimed at representatives from municipalities – for example, a seminar on cogeneration, which is being organised and supervised by the Energy Project Group from the Agenda21 offices in Freiburg. The congress is aimed at representatives from local authorities, public utilities, energy suppliers, associations and initiatives as well as service providers and producers of renewable energies and energy efficiency. It is being organised by Solar Promotion GmbH, Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH und Co. KG as well as fesa e. V.
