EnEff:Stadt Conference 2014

Abstract
Date: 14-15 January 2014
Location: Berlin
The first EnEff:Stadt Conference in January 2012 in the Old Main Customs Office (Altes Hauptzollamt) in Hamburg offered the around 300 participants a mixture of policy discussions, the latest practice-related findings from the ongoing EnEff:Stadt and EnEff:Wärme research projects as well as visionary ideas. The second EnEff:Stadt Conference is already on the horizon. It will take place on 14 and 15 January 2014 at the conference centre belonging to the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy in Berlin and, in addition to the latest project experiences, it will present analyses on central themes and issues relating to BMWi’s research initiatives.
More details
The EnEff:Stadt Conference is aimed at decision-makers from local authorities and utilities as well as at urban planners, energy service providers and energy/climate protection officers in the cities and communities. The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy has been supporting the efforts made by local authorities since 2007. After all, they considerably influence the implementation of the energy turnaround in Germany: they determine the supply structures, land use plans and energy-related standards in public buildings, and the use of new technologies and modern planning tools can considerably expand their scope for action. This is exactly where the EnEff:Stadt research initiative comes into play: by linking energy-based building refurbishment with decentralised communal supply technologies and by developing new planning methods and tools for urban districts.
The conference programme and registration details will be announced in due time in the media and on the EnEff:Stadt website.
