EnEff:Stadt Conference 2012 – Community contributions to the energy revolution

Abstract
Date: 17-18 January 2012
Location: Hamburg
Under the slogan “Community contributions to the energy revolution”, the first EnEff:Stadt Conference is taking place on 17 and 18 January 2012. It is being held in the former Port Customs Office – the “Hauptzollamt Hafen” – in Hamburg’s “Speicherstadt” warehouse district. The event is aimed at decision-makers from local authorities and utilities and at urban planners, energy service providers and energy/climate protection officers in the cities and municipalities. It will present for the first time the results and experience gained from the ongoing pilot projects within the research initiatives carried out by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, and will discuss the challenges and possible solutions for revolutionising energy at the local level.
More details
The programme plans a mixture of discussions on underlying principles, current practice-related results from the around 40 ongoing research projects and visionary ideas. It will cover the entire scope of the two research initiatives, ranging from building-related focus areas and the associated user acceptance to decentralised supply solutions and specific problems caused by the dynamically changing distribution networks in the heating and electricity sectors. It will also take a look at centralised supply strategies.
