Integrated Neighbourhood Energy Concept, Karlsruhe-Rintheim

Based on a neighbourhood energy concept, a local heating network – supplied by a cogeneration system and industrial waste heat - was set up to renovate the buildings for maximum economic effect. Subsequent operation is monitored continuously. In addition to innovations in building conceptual design, building services equipment, measurement and control technology as well as tenant communication, this project will be the first to implement a low-ex approach for an entire neighbourhood.

EnEff:Campus: Climate-neutral campus at Leuphana University Lüneburg

The plan is to further develop Lüneburg’s university campus in the Scharnhorststrasse and Bockelsberg area in terms of both the urban development and energy use. Measures to the existing buildings, the integration of a new building as a central facility for the university and the conversion of the energy supply are being jointly examined.

Rebound effects following refurbishment – Scientific monitoring of the Karlsruhe-Rintheim neighbourhood concept

As part of the "Energy efficient Rintheim" neighbourhood concept, various refurbishment alternatives were analysed for residential construction using detailed simulation models and comprehensive recording of measurement data. Initial evaluations of the instigated monitoring programme show that the calculations have overestimated the possible saving effects.
